Manufacturing Engineer

Teel Plastics is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer. The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise. You will play a critical role in creating and refining processes in order to improve manufacturing safety, quality, and productivity. Identify and lead continuous improvement projects for new and existing products, processes, safety and machinery.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Responsible for managing projects in the area of safety, continuous improvement, equipment upgrades and procurement
  • Manage all aspects of the project to include equipment, process, fixturing/tooling, documentation and training
  • Identify and recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate production process and evaluate potential changes

Continuous Improvement

  • Provide assistance to the manufacturing plant to achieve maximum performance
  • Influence and partner with plant personnel on improvement opportunities; including efficiency requests
  • Design, install and debug tooling and capital equipment that will improve quality, profitability or capacity
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality and assembly issues using data analysis
  • Define, refine and improve existing processes including; manufacturing processes and procedures, new process development, creation of process documentation, product design for manufactorability and assembly, capacity, efficiency and floor design, production processing and problem solving
  • Equipment tooling design and modifications documents using SolidWorks

Administrative

  • Responsible for proper verbal and written communication including leading projects, meetings and staff presentations
  • Enter and track purchase order requisitions
  • Update set-up sheets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 1 – 2 years’ of engineering experience
  • Experience with Project Management, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S a plus
