Sauk County Start! Heart Walk
Teel Plastics is excited to announce its participation of 26 employees in this year's Start! Heart Walk. The Start! Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s campaign to help employees walk their way to better health. Our Teel Team walked a three mile course along the scenic Baraboo River Walking Path starting at the historic Baraboo Circus World Museum. Teel also sponsored one of the event’s four water stations.
Every year over 1 million Americans suffer a heart attack and 700,000 have a stroke. According to the American Heart Association, a leading risk factor for heart attack and embolic stroke is lack of physical activity. Teel Plastics is proud to partner with the American Heart Association for the Start! Heart Walk. What a great way to keep our employees on a healthy track and save lives while having fun! Did you know...
- You will gain about two hours of life expectancy for each hour of regular exercise even if you don't start until middle age. (Harvard University)
- Brisk walking for as little as 30 minutes a day can bring heart-health benefits and reduce your chances for stroke by lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) levels and high blood pressure.
In addition to the Start! Heart Walk, Teel encourages its employees to make physical activity part of their everyday lives by walking at lunch. Teel Plastics' headquarters are located in Gateway Business Park. The Gateway Business Park has a scenic walking path which measures approximately two miles.
The Start! Heart Walk is a part of Teel Plastics' ongoing effort to promote healthy lifestyles. Join the movement and walk on!
