10/27/08 TEEL PLASTICS HONORED WITH 2008 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD

BARABOO, WI … On October 27, 2008, the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce honored Teel Plastics with the 2008 Business of the Year Award. Recent growth and a commitment to local economic development helped position Teel for this award. Jay Smith, Chairman of Teel, accepted the award and thanked Teel’s leadership team for setting the company up for future success.

Teel currently has a workforce of 260 employees and operates four locations in Baraboo, WI. “We will continue to invest in this community,” Smith said at the ceremony. “The community is important to us.”

Teel recently built a 150,000 square-foot environmentally conscious headquarters and plastic extrusion facility in Baraboo. The new state of the art building is located in Teel’s Gateway Business Park situated at what is planned to be the gateway to Baraboo after completion of the new Highway 12 bypass. The park’s business lots that are currently for sale will help economic development in the Baraboo area.

“When a business uses its success to help grow and support the community in which it lives, people take notice,” said Gene Dalhoff, executive director of the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce. “Such is the case with Teel.”

Founded in 1951, Teel Plastics, and its subsidiary Teel GRT, currently operates four divisions including custom pultrusion, custom extrusion, custom bag making and the manufacture of products utilizing agrifiber and plastic composites. Teel Plastics is ISO 9001 certified.
